Former members of the Faringdon Community Dramatic Society from as far afield as North Yorkshire and Southampton are expected to be among the audience for the four-day run of Alan Ayckboum's
comedy 'Ten Times Table'- the society's one hundredth production.
The Society dates back to 1948, when rehearsals were held in the little Meeting House in Lechlade Road, and productions in the Com Exchange. In 1952, the Society
began renting the former cinema in an old nissen hut on what used to be the old Marines Camp (now Marines Drive and Townend Road).
The re-formed Faringdon Community Dramatic Society, ousted from the nissen hut when the site was developed as a housing estate, eventually found its present home in the purpose-built community theatre at the Pump House. The first production there was in 1978.

Faringdon residents have been teased in recent weeks by the appearance of posters declaring the innocence of the 'Faringdon Twelve'.
Now, the mystery can be revealed. They feature prominently in 'Ten Times Table', which will be at the Community Centre Theatre on
November 15,16, and 17. "We wanted something quite out of the ordinary for our centenary production," said the play's director, Carolyn Taylor, "and it didn't take a lot of
modification to make Ayckbourn's play fit Faringdon, its streets, buildings and people,
like a glove. As for the Faringdon Twelve, all I can say is that they lived about 200 years ago and came to a nasty end - you'll have to come and find out the rest for
yourselves!
Tickets will be on sale shortly at Moynes and at the Community Centre. There will be a matinee performance on the Saturday.
