National Drama Organisations:

Oxfordshire Drama Network (ODN) – a website set up for ODN members to exchange news and views over a message board on the web. This aims to provide a useful medium in which to advertise latest productions, or find actors of a certain age, trawl for strange props, etc..

National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA)- for members of amateur operatic and dramatic societies for their mutual assistance and combined benefit.

Amdram.co.uk – this is the site for free information about anything associated with amateur theatre.

UK Theatre Web – the definitive WWW guide to professional and amateur performing arts (mainly theatre, or possibly theater if you’re American or theatr if you’re Welsh) in the UK.


Local Drama Groups:

AmEgos Theatre – based in Wantage.

Cotswold Arcadians – performs open-air Shakespeare once a year in the Cotswolds, often with the help of the Faringdon Dramatic Society FDS.

Didcot Phoenix Drama Group – generally stage at least 3 shows a year, including an annual pantomime in January.

Kingston Bagpuize Drama Group – put on productions twice a year, in April and November and run children’s workshops for the local community.

Oxford Theatre Guild – claim to be the largest group in Oxfordshire. They perform in the Oxford Play House and also do a Summer Shakespeare in one of the Oxford college gardens.

Stagecoach Performing Arts – provide drama classes, dance classes and singing lessons for children at the local primary school.

The Newbury Theatre – find out about the events coming up in the area. Lots of information and links to other drama/theatre groups around Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

The Compton Players – an amateur dramatic group based in Compton, West Berkshire. North of Newbury, South of Oxford, producing plays every year since 1947.

Witney Dramatics Society – We are an amateur drama group based in Witney, Oxfordshire who perform a huge variety of pantomimes, plays, musicals and comedies.

libcat.oxfordshire.gov.uk – Oxfordshire Libraries Catalogue – FDS now has a Society Drama Card. You can log on and look at our loans and reservations and search the site for play sets, etc. You will be able to go into any Oxfordshire library and pick up reservations and in most cases get to keep scripts for over 3 months.
