Beside The Seaside

A comedy by Leslie Sands
Thursday 2 May 1974 - Saturday 4 May 1974
Buckland Memorial Hall, Buckland, Faringdon SN7 8QT
Directed by Evelyn Stoodley

The first play in Leslie Sands’ trilogy of seaside capers at the Seaview Guest House. The tyrannical landlady Mrs Austin terrorises her lodgers with her bread and butter pudding, while newly-weds Mr and Mrs Pepper realise that marriage is no honeymoon and Wilf and Ethel Pearson try to prevent their daughter Sally from running off with a local ‘theatrical’ trickster. Chaos abounds in this stormy seaside resort.

A comedy in three acts. The scene of the play is laid throughout in the sitting-room at “Seaview”, a seaside boarding house, at the height of the summer season.
