We are really looking forward to working with you. To help towards our costs, and for insurance purposes, we ask for a payment of £10 per child if you are not members of the society. If you are given a big part and you are told that you will need a copy of the whole script then there will be a separate charge of £5. You may want to come back later to do this when you are sure that you will need it. Please be aware that the director may make changes to the script as rehearsals progress.
Young people are expected to:
- Check the Rehearsal Schedule and attend rehearsals on one evening a week when required until Christmas. Principal characters will also be required to attend some extra rehearsals. After Christmas, everyone will be needed twice a week. As we near the performances, some rehearsals will run until 10:00pm – you will be told when this will happen. If you are unable to attend a rehearsal for some reason, please let the Director know in advance.
- Show respect for all members of the society and behave as asked. The Director has the right to contact parents if a child’s behaviour is considered unacceptable. This may result in the child no longer being a member of the company.
FDS members are expected to:
- Work in accordance with the Child Protection Policy.
- Take appropriate steps to ensure the safety of all children at all times.
All parents/guardians are expected to:
- Ensure their children do not arrive too early for rehearsals, as there will be no adequate adult supervision before the appointed time.
- Collect (or arrange collection of) their children after rehearsals or performances. It is NOT the responsibility of the society to take children home.
- Access and read the FDS Child Protection Policy and Privacy Policy via our website. If you do not have access to the internet a hard copy will be made available on request.
- Allow use of photography and/or videos as part of the production.
- Allow your child to be filmed or photographed during the activity, with the possibility that these photographs/media recordings may be used for social media and marketing publicity. FDS will take all steps to ensure these images are used solely for the purposes for which they are intended.
Some parents may be asked to volunteer as chaperone for the children during a rehearsal or performance. Further details downloadable here – FDS Child Protection Procedures. The Pantomime is a huge commitment by FDS both in staging the performances and in taking proper care of the young people who come and take part with us. We would like to thank you for all the support that you give as we could not do any of this without it.
Go direct to the Payment Page – If you have already completed this form or just need to purchase the script.
This form should be completed for each child by a parent or guardian:
Faringdon Dramatic Society FDS is an amateur theatre group and a non-profit organisation. All money received from membership fees, ticket and bar sales, and the occasional donation is used to cover the running costs of our productions. The greatest expenditure is for venue hire for both rehearsals and performances, copyright licensing, and insurance. Other expenses include staging, lighting, costumes, and props.
